There are my many friends requested me to write something about the Interview preparation. Also, I experienced many student and professionals whom are very intelligent, creative and have a great knowledge about their field, but still they are not selected for a job. That's remembered me a meeting with my senior one who is selected for an engineering job interview, He shared all the situation he faced. Also, he was very disappointed because according to him his interview is good but he is not selected for the selected job. Like him, there are many fresh graduate faces this situation and suddenly they dis heart and afraid of another interview.
So, Today blog is based on detail about the interview in which I discuss some helpful tips of Interview also I discuss the general questions which is asked from an interviewer.
6 Tips for an interview:-
1) Knowledge about The Company:-
Most of the student don't have knowledge about the company, Because they are not interested in the company methodology. For every interview if You have some knowledge about the company or organization then you will give your positive impact on your interviewer.
one question arises in your mind that which type of knowledge that you know about the company...?
So, The answer is that go to the official page of that company and carefully read the vision/mission of the company. nowadays the in the era of social media you guys can interact easily with the person on LinkedIn who is already working in that company and have some practical knowledge about the company, this will help you a lot in your interview.
2 ) Go Through Your Resume/CV:-
A resume is the first thing in front of the interviewer to know about you. Whatever you write in your resume you should have a backup about that, backup like if you work on your final year project then you must know about it and often, the interviewer asks about the FYP from the fresh graduate students. Well, this happens when your Resume is not a copy paste, so be careful if you write something on a resume and you don't know about that this brings your bad impression on the interviewer. This is the second thing the interviewer reject you from here.
3 ) Subjective Knowledge:-
There are two main types of questions ask from the interviewee one part is the general part and the other one is subjective. I will discuss the general part here in the next section but the subjective part is based on your related field. So recall is your subjective main and most important topics and clears the concepts.
This is the most important part of your selection in a company. The interviewer appreciates those who have some little knowledge about their field.
4 ) Dress To Impress:-
After your mind preparation here come to your physical presentation. The dressing is another important part of your interview. For male dark color paint, white color shirt and shoe color must be matched with your belt. This dressing is for all multinational and well-set companies.
Remember in your mind if you give the interview in a Start-up organization then the formal dress is not necessary, You will also wear jeans and a T-shirt and joggers shoes.
For a female, wear a white shirt and a black coat, black paint, and black shoes is usually for western countries women.
In Asia especially in Pakistan, some female maybe wear a shirt and paint coat, if they are comfortable in it. For those who wear Religious dresses then they wear a light color dress.
And one important thing for both male and female, comb their hair properly.
5 ) Body Language:-
Here you must have effective body language because an interviewer first sees your physical expressions, then after that discuss your resume and ask some general questions.
So, firstly you enter the room keep this thing in your mind that the interviewer faces many people like you. Maybe he/she is a little bit fed up so, when you enter the room then brings in energy to capture their attention and refresh them.
But how you do this...?
Ask permission [May I come in sir/madam], for entering the room and don't look back to the door.
Closed the door with your left hand. stand in front of them with a smile.
6 ) Interpersonal Skills:-
Interpersonal skills will help you during your interview. Keep three thing in your mind You are the best candidate for this job and today you should clarify this thing with your interviewer.
Secondly be on time, this will show your responsible behavior for a job interview.
Third and most important is the attitude towards your goal. Let me clear here the attitude meaning here, Because most of the people when hearing the word attitude, they suddenly think that a person may be a rude or arrogant personality. But this is not the case, let's take an example You keep your attitude for your result is positive and you know that you passed in a good grade because you practice a lot for your examination. like that you enter the room by having a positive attitude. This will help with your confidence level up. More overconfidence is helped you in your question/Answer session.
Some Important Questions For Interview:-
Now, the backbone of your interview part is Question/Answer session.
Before I discuss some general question with you and answer them. Firstly I give you some helpfull tips to easily cover your difficult questions.
i ) Nervousness:-
If, you read all your subjective stuff and clear the basic topics to your self, then don't be nervous.
If, your attention is not towards your interviewer then, you will not able to hear the questions from his/her side and as a result, you should not able to answer it properly.
Firstly, hear the question carefully and answer it with the same language in which the interviewer asks the question. This will show your listening skill to the interviewer.
ii ) Knowledge Is The Key To Success:-
As a graduate Student from your field, You must know the knowledge of your field. The hard truth is that the world does not arrange itself according to our expectations and desires. In a rapidly changing, high stakes world the one thing you can’t do without is reliable, authentic knowledge.
iii ) SWOT Analysis:-
practice SWOT before your interview at home.
''S'' for Strength
''W'' for weaknesses
''O'' for the opportunity
''T'' for Threats
write down your strength and how you get an opportunity from your strength. And now, write down your weaknesses and define which type of threats you have from your weaknesses.
